What it is
A soft chewy sweet with a powdery sugar coating and a strong strawberry flavour. Firm at first, then it goes soft and sticks to your teeth, which is the whole point.

Where it comes from
Bon bons are a British sweet shop staple of the twentieth century, made in lemon, strawberry, apple, blue raspberry and toffee. The name comes from the French for good, doubled, and originally meant any small sweet, but in Britain it settled on this one specific chewy dusted type.
What it's made of
Sugar and glucose syrup with hydrogenated coconut fat worked into a chew, flavoured and coloured, then tumbled in a fine powdered sugar coating. Many are made with vegan ingredients although they are often packed on lines that handle milk.
