Where it comes from
Tropical flavours entered British confectionery through imported fruit and juice from the 1970s onwards, and passion fruit in particular became fashionable through desserts in the 1980s. Putting them into fudge is a recent move by independent makers looking for something beyond vanilla.
What it's made of
A fudge made on a soya drink base with sugar, glucose and hydrogenated palm kernel oil, flavoured with mango and passion fruit. No milk in the recipe.
