Where it comes from
Liquorice has been grown and processed in Britain since at least the sixteenth century, centred on Pontefract in Yorkshire where the climate and soil suited it. Liquorice gums belong to that industry, which at its height supported several factories in one small town.
What it's made of
Glucose syrup, sugar and beef gelatine with modified potato starch and liquorice extract, coloured with vegetable carbon and glazed with carnauba wax.
