Taste

Where it comes from
Football shaped sweets became popular in Britain through the twentieth century as the game became the country's dominant sport. The liquorice flavour ties it to the older tradition of black British sweets rather than to anything to do with football itself.
What it's made of
Glucose syrup, sugar and beef gelatine with modified potato starch and liquorice extract, moulded as balls and coloured with chlorophylls, lutein, vegetable carbon, paprika extract, carmines and curcumin.
