Where it comes from
Drumsticks were created by Swizzels in Derbyshire in 1957 and the raspberry and milk combination has no obvious precedent anywhere in confectionery. It became one of the defining flavours of British childhood, which is why licensing it into other categories works so well.
What it's made of
A fudge made on a soya drink base with sugar, glucose and hydrogenated palm kernel oil, flavoured with raspberry. The milk in the name is a flavour, not dairy.
