Where it comes from
Chocolate and orange was made a British institution by the chocolate orange, launched in the 1930s and originally accompanied by a chocolate apple that nobody wanted. The pairing is now so fixed in British taste that it appears in almost every category at Christmas.
What it's made of
A fudge made on a soya drink base with sugar, glucose and hydrogenated palm kernel oil, with chocolate and orange flavourings. No milk in the recipe.
