Where it comes from
Laffy Taffy grew out of Beich's Caramels in America and joined the Willy Wonka brand in the 1980s. The jokes on the wrappers are submitted by children, who get credited by first name and home town, and it has been running long enough that the jokes are now part of the product rather than a gimmick.
What it's made of
Corn syrup, sugar and palm oil aerated and pulled to make it stretchy, flavoured and coloured, then extruded flat and wrapped.
