What it is
An orange fudge with biscuit crumb through it and a dark chocolate flavour coating.

Where it comes from
Jaffa Cakes were launched by McVitie's in 1927 and are famous for a 1991 VAT tribunal in which the company had to prove they were cakes rather than biscuits, since cakes are zero rated for VAT and chocolate covered biscuits are not. McVitie's baked a giant one to make the point and won.
What it's made of
A fudge made on a soya drink base with orange and biscuit flavourings, a wholemeal wheat and oat biscuit crumb that contains whey from milk, and a dark chocolate flavour coating.
