Where it comes from
Giant gummies became a British pick and mix feature in the 1990s and 2000s, when shops found that a few oversized sweets in a bag increased how much people bought. The dolphin is one of the most produced giant shapes, alongside the strawberry and the bear.
What it's made of
Glucose syrup, sugar and beef and pork gelatine deposited into a large mould, set with pectin for firmness, dried for longer than a small sweet, then glazed.
