What it is

Where it comes from
Giant versions of familiar sweets are a British pick and mix invention, arriving in the 1990s and 2000s. The giant cola bottle takes the single biggest selling sweet in the category and makes it a centrepiece, which works because customers already know exactly what it tastes like.
What it's made of
Glucose syrup, sugar and halal beef gelatine deposited into an oversized mould, flavoured with caramelised sugar syrup and cola flavourings, dried for several days and glazed.
