Refreshers are the chew with a fizz. A soft, pale yellow chew bar with a sharp lemon flavour and a sherbety tingle that starts on your tongue about two seconds in, so every bite is sweet, sour and fizzy at once. They're softer than most chews, so they don't hang around for long.
They're made by Swizzels, the same people who make Love Hearts and Drumstick, and Refreshers have been in British sweet shops since the 1950s. The tang comes from citric acid, and the yellow comes from lutein rather than a synthetic colour.
They belong in a retro bag with Fruit Salads and Black Jacks, and they go nicely with Mini Me for a fizzy, fruity mix that leans towards the softer end.
Made without gelatine, so suitable for vegetarians. Contains soya.
