Melon Slices

Melon Slices are the summer sweet that doesn't need summer. Each one is a small wedge with a green rind, a white stripe and a pink flesh, soft and chewy with a fine sugar coat that gives a little crunch before the melon flavour arrives. The flavour is sweet and juicy, like the ripe middle of a melon.

There's no gelatine in the recipe, which is unusual for a jelly slice. The chew comes from wheat and potato starches, and the colours are black carrot, spirulina and safflower, so the pink and green are plant based. The tang is lactic, citric and malic acid, kept gentle.

They're a natural next to Watermelon Slices, and Jelly Sandia if you want the Spanish take on the same shape. Good in a fruit bag or a picnic tub.

Express delivery is £5.99 for next working day delivery when you order before 2pm Monday to Friday. Orders placed after 2pm or at weekends are dispatched the next working day. The Highlands and islands can take a little longer.

Sealed sweets can be returned unopened within 14 days.
