Before anyone put chocolate in the middle or salt on the top, there was this. Creamy Toffee is a soft, chewy toffee made on 21% sweetened condensed milk and concentrated butter, and it tastes exactly like toffee should: sweet, rounded, buttery, with a faint dark note from the molasses.
Walker's Nonsuch have been making it since 1894 and it's still their flagship, sold as English Creamy Toffee, wrapped in the same twist paper as always. The condensed milk is what gives it the smooth, milky quality that the name promises.
It's the baseline every other toffee gets compared to, which makes it the one to put in the bag alongside Salted Caramel Toffee, Mint Toffee and Treacle Toffee so people can taste the difference.
Made without gelatine, suitable for vegetarians. Contains milk and soya. May contain traces of gluten and tree nuts.
