Taste

Where it comes from
Watermelon as a sweet flavour is largely an American idea that reached Britain through imported candy in the 1990s. The three colour slice is a showcase for multi colour deposit technology, and it became a fixture of pick and mix because it looks like what it is at a glance.
What it's made of
Separate gum mixes deposited into the same mould in quick succession, set with beef and pork gelatine and pectin, dried, then rolled in sour sugar.
