What it is
A soft gummy bear, larger and more yielding than the classic gold bear, in bright fruit colours. Easier to chew, which is why children reach for these first.

Where it comes from
Once Haribo's bear had proved itself, every sweet maker in Europe produced a version, and the softer, larger teddy became the British pick and mix standard. The difference is in the drying time, a softer bear spends less time in the drying room, which makes it cheaper and quicker to produce as well as easier to eat.
What it's made of
Glucose syrup, sugar and beef gelatine with fruit flavours and colours, moulded and dried for a shorter time than a firm bear, then glazed.
