Where it comes from
Fruit flavoured liquorice ropes came out of the same extrusion technology as black liquorice but swapped molasses for fruit flavour. Strawberry became the most popular because it is the flavour children recognise fastest, and the format is identical to the black original.
What it's made of
Wheat flour, glucose fructose syrup and sugar extruded as a rope with strawberry flavouring and colour, wound into a wheel.
