Taste

Where it comes from
Ring shaped gummies came out of America in the 1980s, where peach rings and apple rings were sold in bulk bins, and crossed to Britain as pick and mix took off. The ring shape is practical, it gives a large surface area for sugar coating, which is where most of the flavour hit comes from.
What it's made of
Glucose syrup, sugar and corn starch, no gelatine, deposited in two colours into a ring mould, then tumbled in sugar with a little citric and malic acid.
