What it is
A gummy skull with a soft jelly centre, so it gives twice, once at the shell and once at the filling. Sweet and fruity, and a Halloween bestseller.
Taste

Where it comes from
Filled gummies became possible in the 1990s with co extrusion, where two different mixes are pumped through the same nozzle so one ends up inside the other. The skull shape came out of the boom in Halloween as a British retail event, which grew enormously from the late 1990s onwards.
What it's made of
A gum shell of glucose syrup, sugar and gelatine co extruded around a softer jelly centre, cut, dried and glazed.
