What it is

Where it comes from
Star gummies have been made across Europe since the 1980s. Like all simple shapes they are cheap to produce, and they sell steadily rather than spectacularly, which is exactly what a pick and mix shop needs.
What it's made of
Glucose syrup, sugar and corn starch with malic and citric acid, acidity regulator E331 and brilliant blue colour among others.
