What it is
Gummy blackcurrants and raspberries, deep coloured with a tart edge and a textured surface.
Taste

Where it comes from
Blackcurrant is a distinctly British flavour, grown here in enormous quantity during the Second World War when citrus could not be imported and the juice was given to children for vitamin C. That is why it is so common in British sweets and so rare elsewhere.
What it's made of
Sugar, glucose syrup and pork gelatine with dextrose, citric acid, pectin, olive oil, gum arabic and concentrates from safflower, carrot and elderberry.
