Taste

Where it comes from
Blue raspberry was created in America in the 1950s and 1960s so that soda and ice lolly makers could distinguish it from cherry and strawberry on a shelf. It reached Britain through slush drinks in the 1990s and is now a standard flavour here.
What it's made of
Glucose syrup, sugar, water and maize starch with beef gelatine, citric and malic acid, acidity regulator sodium citrate and brilliant blue colour.
