The fruit bowl, boiled. Sugar Free Garden Fruits are hard, smooth drops in a handful of soft fruit flavours, the kind that taste like the sweets from a jar on a shop counter rather than a chemistry set. Each one is a slow, gentle suck with a clean finish and none of the syrupy aftertaste sugar free sweets sometimes leave.
Bonds make these, using isomalt and maltitol for the body of the sweet and a little sucralose for sweetness. The colours are plant based, beetroot red, carotenes, paprika extract and vegetable carbon, so the shades are muted rather than bright.
They go with Barley Sugar and Fruit Drops in a traditional tin, or with Sugar Free Sherbet Lemons for a bag that skips the sugar without skipping the flavour. Sensible in small handfuls.
Made without gelatine, suitable for vegetarians. Contains isomalt and maltitol, so excessive consumption may have a laxative effect.
