Sugar Coated Strawberries are small, chewy red strawberries with a green leaf and a fine crunchy sugar coat, and the flavour is straightforward sweet strawberry with a faint tang underneath. The chew is soft, the sugar gives a little crunch, and the whole thing is over in two bites.
They're made with vegan ingredients, set with wheat and potato starches instead of gelatine, and the red and green come from spirulina, safflower and black carrot rather than synthetic colours. The tang is a light blend of lactic, malic and citric acids, kept well in the background.
They're the sweet, plain one in the strawberry line. Put them with Mini Fizzy Strawberries for the fizzy version, Giant Strawberries for the big one, or Fizzy Strawberries if you want sharp and sweet in one bag. Good on a cake.
