A hard, glossy yellow shell with a bright, tangy lemon flavour, and hidden inside, a pocket of sherbet that fizzes on your tongue once the shell gives way. It is the sweet that made a certain headmaster famous, and it was a favourite long before that.
Ours are the vegan recipe made by Kingsway, coloured with curcumin rather than anything artificial, and made without gelatine or animal ingredients. The fizz comes from citric acid and sodium carbonates meeting in your mouth.
They lead any sherbet bag with Sherbet Fruits, and they pair with Pear Drops and West Indian Limes for a sharp, fruity retro mix. A staple for the office jar, the car and anyone who likes a sweet with an ending.
