Raspberry and liquorice are an old friendship, and Raspberry Liquorice Slices are the neat, bite sized version of it. Each slice is a stripe of blue raspberry candy pressed against a stripe of black liquorice, with a firm chew that gives you the fruit first and then the aniseed. The raspberry is a bit sharper than strawberry, which makes the liquorice sit better.
They're made by Kingsway, and the recipe has apple juice concentrate in the fruit layer, which rounds off the sweetness. No gelatine, which is unusual for a layered liquorice sweet.
They're the natural partner for Strawberry Liquorice Slices, and they sit well with Liquorice Wheels in a bag for someone who likes their liquorice with a bit of fruit. If you want to go Scandinavian with it, add Bubs Raspberry & Liquorice.
