Milk Bottles

There's a reason Milk Bottles are in nearly every retro mix ever assembled. They're small, white, bottle shaped and made of a soft foam that gives under your teeth and then chews for a while, with a creamy, sweet condensed milk flavour that tastes like the inside of a childhood. Not fancy, just right.

These are the Barratt ones, the originals, and the recipe still uses actual sweetened condensed milk, which is why the flavour is proper milky rather than vaguely vanilla. The foam is firmer than a marshmallow and softer than a gum, which is exactly where it should be.

They belong in a paper bag with Fried Eggs and Fruit Salads, and they go surprisingly well with Strawberry Milkshake Bottles for a pink and white pairing. Also very good straight from the fridge.

Contains beef gelatine, so not suitable for vegetarians. Contains milk. Not suitable for children under 36 months.

Express delivery is £5.99 for next working day delivery when you order before 2pm Monday to Friday. Orders placed after 2pm or at weekends are dispatched the next working day. The Highlands and islands can take a little longer.

Sealed sweets can be returned unopened within 14 days.
