Love Heart Rolls are the mini packets of pastel, heart stamped tablets that fizz gently on your tongue as they dissolve, with a sharp little tang from the malic acid and a different fruit flavour for each colour. They're chalky, crumbly and gone in seconds, which is why the roll format exists.
Swizzels have been pressing messages into these since 1954, and the wording gets updated so the rolls keep up with the times. The colours come from anthocyanin, beetroot, chlorophyllin, curcumin, lutein and paprika, all plant sources, and there's no gelatine, milk or egg anywhere in the recipe.
They're an easy win in a party bag and a natural next to Double Lollies and Mixed Fruit Lollies for a Swizzels retro mix, or drop a roll into a Valentine's order.
