Fruit Jellies are the sweets that were in the tin at your gran's house. Soft, smooth pectin jellies in a spread of fruit colours and shapes, with a light sugar coat and a mixed fruit flavour that's sweet and clean. The texture is tender, more fruit pastille than gummy.
These are Taveners fruit jellies, a name that's been on British sweet shop shelves for over a century. They're made with vegan ingredients, set with pectin rather than gelatine, and the colours are natural: anthocyanins, curcumin, paprika, safflower and spirulina.
They're a traditional mix staple. Pair them with Orange and Lemons for a proper retro bag, Funky Fruits for something a bit brighter, or Sugar Coated Strawberries for another soft vegan sweet. A safe pick for a gift jar that has to please several generations.
