How sour is too sour? Nuclear Apple Crunch is an extreme sour apple chew, freeze dried into a light, brittle bite, and it goes from crunch to full facial spasm in about a second. Underneath the acid there's a decent green apple flavour, which you'll notice once your eyes stop watering.
Freeze drying is why it's harsher than the original chew. The sweets are frozen and the water is pulled out as vapour under vacuum, and water is what used to soften the blow. Take it away and the sourness is concentrated into something lighter, crunchier and less forgiving.
It's the natural partner to Nuclear Cherry Crunch. Apple Cloud Crunch is the gentle version, and Zesty Apple Crunchies sit somewhere in between.
