Fruity Rock Pebbles are genuine American hard fruit candy, the boiled sweets you'd normally suck for ten minutes, freeze dried until they swell up into light, porous nuggets that crunch and melt in seconds. The flavour is the same intense American fruit, only faster.
Freeze drying a hard candy is a different game to freeze drying a gummy. Put it under vacuum and what little moisture there is expands and escapes as vapour, blowing the candy up from a dense glass into a puffed, crunchy pebble.
Pair with Rainbow Fruit Puffs and Rainbow Crunch Clusters for an American freeze dried bag, or Fruit Bombs for a British contrast.
