Fruit Bombs are the chews that went bang. Take a soft fruit chew made with strawberry, orange and lemon juice, freeze dry it, and it swells into a hollow little bomb with a crisp shell and a centre like honeycomb. Bite one and it collapses into a fruity dust that coats your whole mouth.
Freeze drying works by freezing the chew hard and then dropping the pressure until the ice sublimates away as vapour. The water leaves, the sugar and juice stay, and the sweet ends up lighter, crunchier and noticeably more fruity than it started. Three flavours, three colours, all mixed together.
Sling them in with Rainbow Fruit Puffs and Wild Berry Fruit Puffs for a full freeze dried fruit bag, or add Fruity Rock Pebbles if you want more crunch than is reasonable.
Made with vegan ingredients and no gelatine.
