Blue Raspberry Pips are the sweet you eat by the dozen. Each one is a small hard boiled nugget, no bigger than a fingernail, and these are a vivid blue with a tangy raspberry flavour that starts sweet and ends with a sharp little kick from the tartaric acid.
They are made by Dobsons, who have been boiling pips for over a century and still sell them out of the same style of tall jar. The small size means the flavour arrives quickly and you are reaching for the next one before you have thought about it.
They mix beautifully with Bubblegum Pips and Rhubarb and Custard Pips for a pip bag in three colours, or with Fruit Pips for something more traditional. Good in a desk drawer, better in a coat pocket on a cold walk.
Made without gelatine, suitable for vegetarians. Contains sulphites. May contain traces of milk.
