Taste

Where it comes from
Lime flavoured boiled sweets have been made in Britain since the nineteenth century, when citrus oils became widely available through trade with the West Indies, which is where the name comes from. Lime was prized in the era of long sea voyages, and citrus sweets carried some of that association with them.
What it's made of
Sugar and glucose syrup boiled hard with citric acid and lime oil, coloured green.
