What it is
A soft chewy jelly shaped like a little raspberry, packed with blue raspberry flavour and rolled in a fizzy sour sugar. The same sweet as the Fizzy Blue Raspberries, set with starch instead of gelatine so vegans get one too.

Where it comes from
Blue raspberry was invented in America in the 1950s and 1960s so drinks makers could tell it apart from cherry and strawberry on a shelf, and it reached Britain through slush drinks in the 1990s. The vegan version follows the shift in British pick and mix since the late 2010s, when makers started setting their biggest sellers with starch and pectin.
What it's made of
Glucose syrup, sugar, corn starch and water with citric and malic acid, flavouring, sodium citrate and the colours E133, E102, E110 and E129. No gelatine.
