What it is
A hard sour ball with layered flavours that change as you work through it, at the top end of what the brand produces.
Taste
Where it comes from
The extreme sour category is an arms race, with each brand claiming to be sourer than the last. Toxic Waste has released a series of increasingly severe products since the 1990s, of which Nuclear Fusion is one, all of them sold on how hard they are to eat rather than how good they taste.
What it's made of
Panned sugar layers around a centre, loaded with citric and malic acid and coloured differently at each layer, glazed with beeswax.
