Where it comes from
Cow Tales were launched in America in 1984 by Goetze's Candy of Baltimore, a family firm making caramels since 1895. The company's older Caramel Creams are the same idea in a round shape, and the rope version was made to appeal to children.
What it's made of
Wheat flour, corn syrup, sugar and dairy worked into a caramel, extruded as a tube around a cream filling and cut.
