What it is
A three dimensional gummy pineapple in yellow and green, with moulded texture on the skin.
Taste
Where it comes from
The pineapple has been a symbol of hospitality and luxury since the seventeenth century, when a single fruit could cost the equivalent of thousands of pounds and was rented out as a table decoration rather than eaten. The shape carries that association even now.
What it's made of
Corn syrup, sugar and gelatine with sorbitol, citric and malic acid and pectin, moulded in two colours and glazed with carnauba wax.
