Strawberry Twists are a simple idea done well. A rope of red jelly and a rope of white, twisted together into a short chunky piece, with a sweet strawberry flavour that comes through on the red and a milder, vanilla style note on the white. The chew is soft with a pectin snap, and they don't stick to your teeth.
Kingsway make them, and the red comes from radish, blackcurrant and carrot concentrates with a little paprika, so it's a deep strawberry red rather than a neon one. Pork gelatine and pectin together give a soft chew that still bites clean.
Put them with Raspberry Twist Kisses for a twist bag in two flavours, or with Strawberry Wheels and Strawberry Pencils for an all strawberry mix in three textures. A good retro filler for a party bag.
Contains pork gelatine, so not suitable for vegetarians.
