Not every sweet needs a gimmick. Fruit Chews are firm, square, individually wrapped chews in a mix of fruit flavours, the kind that start stiff, warm up in your mouth and then go on for a good while. Unwrap, chew, unwrap, chew. It's a rhythm.
They're made by Kingsway and the recipe is a bit more careful than you'd expect for such a plain sweet. The flavours are natural, and the colours come from black carrot, paprika, carrot, safflower and hibiscus, so the oranges and reds look like fruit rather than paint.
They go with Fruit Salads and Maoam Stripes in a bag for people who like a chew with some resistance, or with Fruit Flavour Caramels if you want the softer side too. Also the ideal sweet for a glove box.
Contains gelatine, so not suitable for vegetarians.
