This is what freeze drying does to rainbow fruit sweets. Rainbow Fruit Puffs are fruit chews in a sugar shell, and the drying process cracks each one open, so you get a shell of the coloured coating and a puffed, crunchy centre that dissolves the second it meets your tongue. Five fruit flavours, one for each colour.
The freeze drying works by freezing the sweets and putting them under vacuum. The water inside turns to vapour and forces its way out, which is why the shells split and the middles puff. No heat, nothing added, just the same sweet with the water gone and the flavour concentrated.
Pair with Wild Berry Fruit Puffs for the berry version, or Fruit Bombs and Fruity Rock Pebbles for a full freeze dried fruit bag.
Made without gelatine, suitable for vegetarians. Contains the colours E102, E110 and E129, which may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children.
