Fizzy Jelly Snakes are long, two tone jelly snakes with a soft, stretchy chew and a fizzy sugar coat that tingles all the way down. The flavours are mixed fruit, sweet with a tang from the coating, and the length means one snake is a sweet you settle into.
Kingsway make these, and the recipe is tidier than the colours suggest. The reds, oranges, greens and purples come from black carrot, spirulina, safflower, grape, curcumin and paprika, and the fizz is a blend of malic, lactic and citric acids. Nothing synthetic on the colour list.
Put them with Jelly Snakes for the fizzy and plain versions together, or Fizzy Snakes and Fizzy Worms for a bag that's all wriggle. A good one for a party bag or a child who likes to make a sweet last.
