Ask a six year old to pick one sweet from the whole counter and this is where the finger lands. Hannah's Chocolate Animals are small, solid chocolate flavour shapes, moulded into a little farmyard and zoo of creatures. They are smooth and sweet, melt fast on the tongue, and taste the way sweet shop chocolate has always tasted, which is to say not posh and all the better for it.
Hannah's have been making counter sweets in the UK for decades, and this is the classic compound chocolate style: cocoa powder and milk whey in a soft, quick melting base rather than a bar that snaps. That is why they are gentle enough for small mouths and easy to pile into a bag.
They are a party bag staple, and they round out a kids chocolate mix with Choc Mice, Chocolate Coins and Jazzies.
Made without gelatine. Coloured with carmine, so not suitable for vegetarians. Contains gluten and milk.
Keep them somewhere cool and dry, as they soften in the heat.
