Blackcurrant and liquorice shouldn't work, like cheese and pickle, and yet it has been quietly working for a century. A dark, hard boiled sweet where the fruity blackcurrant comes first and the warm, slightly savoury liquorice note follows, so the two trade places on your tongue as the sweet shrinks.
Blackcurrant Liquorice Sugar Free is the Bonds version, built on isomalt and maltitol with a little sucralose, and it has real butter in the recipe, which gives it a rounder finish than most sugar free sweets.
It sits well with the regular Blackcurrant Liquorice, and with Chocolate Limes Sugar Free and Mintoes Sugar Free for a grown up sugar free bag. A sweet for a rainy afternoon and a good book.
Made without gelatine, suitable for vegetarians. Contains milk. Contains the colour E122, which may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children. Contains isomalt and maltitol, so excessive consumption may have a laxative effect. Not suitable for children under three.
