Where it comes from
Pastel M&M's came out of the single colour business, driven by events rather than shops. Pink in particular is one of the highest volume single colours Mars produces, almost entirely for celebrations rather than for confectionery counters.

Milk chocolate centres panned with sugar and coloured pink with a blend including allura red, polished and printed.
