What it is
A rectangular hard sweet in bold fruit flavours, particularly green apple and blue raspberry, with a flavour intensity that lasts far longer than a British boiled sweet.
Taste

Where it comes from
Jolly Rancher was founded in Colorado in 1949 by Bill and Dorothy Harmsen, who chose the name to suggest western hospitality. It began as an ice cream company and moved into hard sweets, which became the business. Hershey bought the brand in 1996 and it is now one of the best selling hard sweets in the world.
What it's made of
Sugar, corn syrup and malic acid boiled hard with strong fruit flavourings, formed into bars and cut. The flavour loading is much higher than a traditional boiled sweet.
