A caramel for people who think most caramels are too sweet. Dark Chocolate Caramels are a soft, slow chewing caramel made with condensed milk and butter, wrapped in a coat of dark chocolate at 58% minimum cocoa solids. The chocolate is bitter enough to argue with the caramel, and the caramel wins, but only just.
The chew is long and gentle, more like a soft toffee than a hard one, so it lasts and does not stick. The chocolate coat is thin and snaps cleanly, and the salt in the caramel keeps the whole thing from being sickly.
They belong with Chocolate Caramels and Milk Chocolate Eclairs in a caramel lover's bag, or next to Peppermint Creams for an old fashioned dark chocolate selection. One to keep back for the end of the evening with a coffee.
Made without gelatine, suitable for vegetarians. Contains milk and soya.
Store somewhere cool and dry, as chocolate softens in the heat.
