Where it comes from
Shaped marshmallows became possible once depositing machinery could handle an aerated mix in multiple colours, which is a relatively modern development. The penguin is one of a family of animal marshmallows that sell mainly to children and at Christmas.
What it's made of
Sugar and glucose fructose syrup whipped with pork and beef gelatine and air, deposited in three colours into a penguin mould, and dusted with maize starch.
